Vision Zero P4 Accelerator

Accelerating the introduction of technologies to reduce traffic deaths.
P4 AcceleratorReducing traffic deaths is the objective of the Vision Zero initiative, a multi-national road traffic safety project. Technologies are available to warn bus drivers of persons dangerously near the vehicle but not visible due to blind spots. Autonomous vehicles employ the same technologies when in self-driving mode. If such collision warning systems could be installed in public transit buses, the number of traffic deaths could be reduced even more.

The Vision Zero P4 Accelerator helps a cohort of cities to define the problem with traditional technology, to pilot the new technologies to find the best solution, to set appropriate policies and to procure much faster than traditionally.

Phased approach including industry outreach, design sprint, RFx ghost writing for a cohort of cities, piloting, data gathering and analysis, procurement.
